It’s time for the semi-finals of the FA Cup as four clubs stand on the verge of greatness. The two games will be played at Wembley this weekend and while there are certainly favourites between the two encounters, we all know that anything can happen when it comes to the magic of the cup. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the blockbuster clash between Coventry City and Manchester United.
Coventry Form GuideWhile their dreams of reaching the playoffs again may be fading ever so slightly, Coventry City have still had an incredible season up to this point. Their FA Cup run has been remarkable to watch and now, they’re heading back to Wembley, a place they know very well. Some have probably already counted them out here, but don’t be surprised if they pull off the upset.
After defeating Oxford 6-2 in the third round, Coventry drew 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday before defeating them 4-1 in the replay. They went on to batter Maidstone 5-0 in the fifth round, and then against Premier League side Wolves, they staged a memorable comeback to win 3-2.
Manchester United Form GuideManchester United supporters know that this is their last chance to make a push for silverware this season. The Red Devils have had quite a turbulent campaign and yet despite that, there’s still a chance they could make magic happen between now and the end of the season. For the sake of Erik ten Hag’s future, they’ll want to throw everything they’ve got at this competition.
United’s FA Cup campaign began with a 2-0 win on the road to Wigan, before defeating Newport 4-2 in the fourth round. From there, they edged past Nottingham Forest 1-0, before beating rivals Liverpool 4-3 in a truly fantastic quarter-final tie.
Match PredictionThe Sky Blues need to play without fear here. We’ve seen United get rattled by lower league sides in the past, and with this being such a grand occasion, we don’t think there’s any reason for them to be scared. With that being said, we do think Manchester United will have just about enough in their locker to win and reach the final.
