We are heading into a period of international friendlies over the next week, with some teams using them for experimental purposes, but others using them as key build up games for Euro 2024.
Romania Form GuideRomania are the team in this one that will be heading to Germany for Euro 2024, and will be looking to go their in form. This is the first of two games they'll play as warm ups, and will be looking to win both, if they're to have any chance of doing well at the tournament.
In parts, I think Romania have shown a lot of promise. Wins over Switzerland and Israel in November, and only narrowly beaten by Colombia in March. A draw with Northern Ireland was not ideal, but is the only poor recent performance. Prior to that loss to Colombia, they went 12 games unbeaten, winning seven of those and drawing the other five.
Bulgaria Form GuideBulgaria are a team not heading to Euro 2024, which does put them in a difficult position here. I'm not too sure their players will be that interested in the two games they have this week, but the management team will see it as a free hit to experiment and try out some new things. That does make them difficult to work out from a betting point of view, but regardless of that, they just haven't been good enough recently.
In their last 13 games, Bulgaria have just one win and that was a 1-0 success over lowly Tanzania, which to be honest, at only 1-0 was quite disappointing. They drew 1-1 with Azerbaijan in their last game in March.
Match PredictionI like the chances of Romania here. They're a squad looking to get into form, play well ahead of Euro 2024, and players will be looking to impress, to get into the starting team for the tournament. Bulgaria don't have that to play for, and have struggled for some time now, so I'll take Romania to win this one.
